The Swedish founder and designer of Rivsalt, Jens Sandringer, came up with the idea whilst working in Beijing and experiencing a unique dining experience in a local Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant. He saw the chef grating pink rock salt over their food in front of us and he thought it was really cool. Cool enough to be a great product and the design process started. Four years later Rivsalt was ready to be appreciated on the Scandinavian market.
